Medfield Blogs! Well, not yet, but hopefully it soon will. For a family with two working parents, it is practically impossible to make contact with the people of the town that we just moved to. On 3.5.06, Bruce Katz wrote in the New York Times Magazine about exurbs:

It’s the loss of our cultural identity. Everyone just retreats into their homes, turns on the television and doesn’t engage. It’s a loss of democracy on some level.

So, creating this Web site was not entirely altruistic – we hope to benefit from it ourselves. We believe that this Web site can become a great communication tool, provide a platform for ideas and needs and connect the members of our community faster and easier than ever before. It allows people to engage – by turning on the computer instead of the television. Maybe this is the way to engage in the 21st century. But in order to get there, your active participation is needed.
