Welcome to Medfield Blogs!, the community blog site for the town of Medfield, Massachusetts. This site is dedicated to the community and everybody can read and post entries and comments. It is necessary, however, that you register, in order to prevent abuse and spamming on the site. Registration is simple, all you need is a valid email address and a user name that you want to appear on the site.
Once registered, you will receive an email with a temporary password. You can then log on to the site, change your password and other user preferences, and start blogging right away
The site uses an Open Source blogging tool called World Press. This tool requires that you familiarize yourself with two different user interfaces. The look and feel of the site that you use to post content is actually different from the public site. The reward is a very pleasing and sophisticated presentation of the blog content on the public site.
You will not need to know HTML to post to the site, but if you do, you will be able to take advantage of features that are otherwise not available.
It is permissible to upload one picture per blog entry. The image will be resized and automatically placed at the top left of the content.
The rules of the house:
- Obscene or otherwise offensive content will be automatically filtered or removed manually
- Absolutely no advertising. Such postings will be removed as well
- You must register with your real name. You can chose to not show your real name on the Options page
- There is no dedicated support for this Web site. If you get stuck, ask the community for help
